Volunteer Services

Denton County MHMR Center appreciates each and every volunteer in every capacity that they work. Volunteers truly make a difference!

Below are some examples of things you can participate in if you are interested. Please feel free to contact Volunteer Services if you are interested in something that is not listed.

Volunteering Examples

• • • • • Individuals willing to assist with fundraising
        • Project Volunteers: Assist in areas such as gardening, painting, and working Denton County MHMR Center events
        • Imaging: Photographing / Videoing Denton County MHMR Center events and programs.
        • Grant Writing
        • Tutors assisting individuals we serve.
        • Creative: Designing promotional items such as T-shirts and flyers
        • On-Site Volunteers: For Greeting People when they come in the front door to almost any other service we provide.
        • Planning and Network Advisory Committee (PNAC) Member: This has a separate application process. PNAC members provide feedback on Denton County MHMR Center client services and consists of clients, family members of clients, and community members. The PNAC makes recommendations to the Board of Trustees.
        • Board of Trustees: Trustees are appointed by the Cities of Denton, Lewisville, Flower Mound, Corinth, Sanger, Aubrey, Pilot Point, Carrollton, Little Elm, Argyle  and through the County of Denton. These are two-year appointments.

How To Volunteer

The volunteer process goes as follows:

        • Your application will be processed, and you will then be notified if your background cleared
        • A volunteer interview will be scheduled, and placement will be determined
        • Training, if any, will be coordinated with our Training Department
        • Start Volunteer Application

Regular Donation Needs:
Feminine Hygiene Products
Deodorant
Backpacks
Soap
Lotion
Nonperishable Food
Individually wrapped and labeled healthy snacks ( granola bars, fruit cups, etc.)
