Denton County MHMR offers outpatient Adult Mental Health case management services. Case managers are advocates for you and assist in locating both internal and external resources that may meet your current needs. The goal of this program is to:

  • Improve your quality of life
  • Reduce symptoms
  • Build coping skills and strategies
  • Reduce hospitalizations
  • Work with you on setting and meeting recovery plan goals
  • Empower and educate you to lead an independent and fulfilling life

Case managers will work with you to address your needs and recovery plan goals, while also assisting in coordinating community resources.

Skills Training

Skills training provides opportunities for you to acquire and improve your skills aimed at increasing your ability to thrive in the community.

Crisis Response Services

Crisis services are offered 24/7. If you are in Crisis Call 1-800-762-0157.

Counseling Services

Individual therapy in an office-based setting that focuses on the treatment of emotional disturbance are available for individuals who qualify. All counseling services are time limited. All our Counselors are fully licensed and utilize evidence based practices, which include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Cognitive processing therapy (CPT)

Medication Services

The Center provides a wide array of Psychiatric and Medication Services for individuals we serve. Our team of professionals include psychiatrists, Psychiatric nurse practitioners, registered nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and support staff.

Services provided include:

  • Psychiatric evaluations.
  • Medication management.
  • Provide education and training on identifying and managing your symptoms and side effects
    assisting consumers in accessing Pharmacy Assistance Programs.
  • Helping consumers in their medication adherence by assisting them with med box filling.

We work with you to treat the signs and symptoms of mental illness, to promote safe and effective use of medications and assist you in reaching your desired wellness and recovery goals and improve your quality of life.

Peer Support Services

A Peer is a person with lived experience of recovery from mental illness and/or addiction. By combining their experience with skills learned in formal training, Peer Specialists deliver services in behavioral health settings to support long-term recovery. Peer Specialists are open about their lived experience and can be most effective when a program is recovery-oriented like the Peer Program at Denton County MHMR Center.

Pre-admission Screening and Resident Review (PASRR) Services

Denton County MHMR PASRR services are here to make sure if you are in a nursing home and struggling with a mental illness you are receiving appropriate mental health treatment. If you meet criteria, you will receive case management services to address your needs and recovery plan goals.
